In only a few weeks, Sandi Miller is visiting our Elvis Convention, in Hoogeveen, The Netherlands. The date is June 7th, 2009.
Here you will have the chance to meet and greet with Sandi, who also will tell some stories about her time with Elvis Presley. Many unique stories, but also documented with incredible photos. A unique chance to hear very cool and exciting stuff about the King Of Rock 'n' Roll.

Michael Jarrett, who wrote the songs I'm Leavin' and I'll Be Home On Christmas Day, will release A Tribute To Elvis cd...! This cd is for the first time available on May 24, 2009 at The Original Elvis Tribute - 013 Tilburg, The Netherlands.
The title of the cd is I'm Leavin'.

American roots-rock artist Webb Wilder has never been shy about his love for The King, and in the cult-movie “Horror Hayride” he performs one of the greatest ever tributes to Elvis. The highlight of the movie is a scene in which a student at a party is making fun of Elvis, annoying Wilder enough to get up and perform his own “T.C.B. Yodel # 9”, together with fellow roots-rock performer Ted Roddy (who will be performing in ‘The Original Elvis Tribute 2009’ this month ). The song has some of the coolest lyrics ever heard in an Elvis tribute, and it includes the immortal line: “If you don’t think Elvis is # 1, you’re full of # 2”. On the above photo you can see Wilder in that scene from movie, performing the song together with Ted Roddy. The renewed interest in Duke Bardwell, who played bass for Elvis at 181 shows in the mid-70s, has now resulted in a new American documentary being produced about him. Titled “Bayou Country”, it’s centered around a classic song that Duke wrote, but of course his association with Elvis and other artists like José Feliciano, Tom Rush and Kenny Loggins are also explored. You can see a trailer from this documentary here:
In this clip, Duke talks about his teenage days as a child with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), his early career, as well as his association with Elvis, including a neat story about him hanging out with Elvis in his Lake Tahoe penthouse and playing ‘You And I’ for him again & again. Duke will be doing shows in Finland, Poland, Norway, Sweden, Belgium and Holland beginning next week as a part of ‘The Original Elvis Tribute 2009’. These shows will also mark the first time ever that Duke participates in an Elvis-tribute tour. ELVIS-SONGWRITER OFFERS BELGIUM NEW SONG FOR EUROVISION SONGCONTEST
The Belgian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest, “Copycat”, has drawn heavy criticism from Belgian Elvis-fans in recent days. They feel that the song is an insult to Elvis’ memory, and want the song withdrawn from the contest.
The controversy has attracted international attention, and now one of Elvis’ own songwriters, Michael Jarrett (71), has offered to write a new song for Belgium. Mr. Jarrett wrote one of the King’s favorite songs, “I’m Leavin’”, as well as the Presley Christmas classic “I’ll Be Home On Christmas Day”, which was recently chosen as the 2nd most important Christmas song ever by the Swedish newspaper “Aftonbladet”.
Though he’s a bit bemused by the outrage that the Belgian entry has caused (“Some people get offended at the slightest things these days”, he says), he adds that he’d be more than happy to write a new entry for Belgium: “I would consider it an honor if they would ask me”, he says, “And I’ll be in Europe in May, so maybe I could even be there in person for some of the preparations, and help out with the arrangement and so on”. Mr. Jarrett will be performing in Hasselt, Belgium on May 23rd and in Tilburg, Holland on May 24th as part of “The Original Elvis Tribute 2009”, an American production celebrating the King’s legacy.
